The Home Planetarium Association, established in the early 90's, is proud to recognize the above people to be among the pioneers of building, restoring, collecting, and operating star theaters and projectors at home. The galaxy of home planetaria can be broken down into four major 'arms', home built spherical projectors, home built cylinder projectors, restored old commercial projectors, and collecting/curating old commercial projectors. The newer video projection area is considered part of the halo of related activities, as is collecting various toy projectors and other memorabilia related to planetariums.
